Joana's Leveling Guide Review

Anyone who has played World of Warcraft, knows that the game is forever being modified. Every chance you get to turn around the corner, there is some rev or patch that either; A, Realigns things or B, completely screws over the whole system. Someone please tell me the point of purchasing a book from your local GameStop (ugh I can't stand them) that is going to be no good in a few months much less a year (my opinion is anyone who gets the guide is getting it for flavor value on the day of release, like a collector's item). I say this because most of the time the in-store guide is usually some BradyGames crap put together to help you do nothing but waste your time. And that my friends, is where the online guides come in because they are written by players like us!

Below I am going to introduce to you what is included in the Horde Guide:

I have had very good experiences with Joana, its a guide I even recommend to my real-life friends and they actually used it. The membership to Joana will give you updates whenever there is a new patch or daemon. You receive access to over 100s of videos of the quests that you will need to take down as well as tricks and tips to get you through rough spots. Joana gives you a step-by-step tutorial session so you have zero questions about your level.

Even if you are looking for maps or a few additional guides, you can find those here also. Her guide also has a special Blood Elf section starting in Eversong. After doing this guide once, you should have no problems ever again on where you should go to level or how to get there. Its like a bot but you do the real work. Pictures are included in the guide so you actually see where you have to go or where you will have to go in the future accordingly. Visual aides are great when you are trying to level up very quickly in order to progress.

This manual is actually VERY detailed, in the manner that I consider this woman insane for even putting the amount of time she did in it. Really. Nothing here has been left out at all so you can feel very confident that you are getting the most recent information that is available, updated on the fly right after every patch on Tuesdays. WotLK should take you about 3 days to level from 70-80 using this guide, catching up to your friends quickly if you are left behind. This guide without a doubt is one of THE best WoW guides out there, hands down. There is a reason Joana has sold more than anyone in the MMO guide market today, and this is it.

In all honesty, I would have to say that if you are sketchy on getting Dugi's guide, I would not hesitate to get this one. You can ask the WoW community and theres generally very nice feedback on Joana. I personally would have to say that Dugi's here still gets my vote since it has more info on the non-PvE side of the game. For a bit steeper of a price, I would definately go with Dugi's. However, if you are just looking to blast through the levels at record time, then this might be the one. I rate it 8 out of 10.

Dugi's WoW Guide Review

Ok, so as promised I said I would give a review today on some popular Warcraft guides. Now bare with me because this is one of the only ones I actually tried and was happy with. Joana's is great for leveling, but that is about it. Most guides do not go into depth about what to do once you hit 80, this one gives you all of it.

This guide was written by Dave Farrell or otherwise known as Dugi. This guy is a true veteran of World of Warcraft like a lot of us, with one of the highest play time ratings on any server (roughly 8,000 hours in-game). Now that may not sound like much since we all have battled the addiction of WoW, but let me say that he is honest and at least brave for admitting it. Dugi was one of the first gamers to actually produce a power-leveling guide, a PVP guide, along with most recently his Gold farming guide. Dugi now offers all these guides, either separate or part of a combo-deal, under the name Ultimate WoW Guide.

Dugi's Gold Guide

Dave/Dugi's gold farming guide differs most from other farming guides because it is presented as an interactive website and streaming video series, in place of your occasional eBook style. This alone sold me and was a great method for interactive teaching, and combined with the other tutorials it leaves you in no doubt how to replicate to produce better results.

Some if not most of the techniques explored by Dugi here are unique with this guide, however it must be noted that the farming techniques are not explored as fully as this in other guides such as Joana's. This is not to say that the other guide misses out on anything, but it should be noted that it might not benefit advanced farmers as much as other guides can and will.

Most new players will benefit from not only learning how to become a great farmer of gold and riches, but also a great and effective power leveler and PVPer. This makes this combo-guide a perfect choice for anyone who just started the World of Warcraft game up and enhance their rich, gameplaying experience.

Leveling Guide:

Dugi's guide offers an amazing in-game leveling plugin for both Horde and Alliance factions. Using a directional arrow and customizations, this will direct your character to the quests they need to accept and complete to level in the quickest and fastest way possible.

This guide offers many of the same features included in most popular leveling guides, but also insists additional guidance that is not included in those other leveling guides. The In-Game Talent guide, Class Gear Guide, and Levels 60-80 Instance guides are all examples of how the author (Dave Farrell) has thought more about the needs of the gamer and also delivers greatly according to those needs throughout this guide.

PVP Guide:

In all honesty, I don't really PVP. HOWEVER, I feel that if you need a guide to PvP you should probably study your opponents more; Battlegrounds are a great place to do this and will enhance your reflexes greatly when battling other players. This is where I learned before Arenas, and since we all know World PvP is pretty much dead, this is where you should be going. I know what I am good at, and I stick to it and that is farming gold. Honestly, when do you see a banker going to war? That is how I like to look at PvP, it isn't much of my thing here since it has long died out and I have evolved around the game. Instead of trying to seduce you into the fact that I may know PvP mechanics, I suggest you view the guide for yourself to learn more about the PVP strategy guide.

That completes my review for today's guide, tomorrow I will try to post up on Joana's and its pros and cons. I hope you enjoyed the reading, I am always open to comments on what I should add or take away of course.

You can click the banner or go here to read testimonials, view sample chapters and of course, learn more about the guide in general.

Apologies!

I have been uber busy lately with juggling work and school, don't think I forgot about all of you! I will be posting some reviews of some of the world's most popular World of Warcraft guides, some you may have heard of, or may not have. Either way, you get to hear about it! By the way, any TF2 Players here? Still trying to get that damn 8 friend achievement. ;)

Religion and Christianity

Religion really interests me, I believe that most people do not understand how a lot of it works. I am not some bible-thumping fundamentalist, nor an atheist. However, I recently have come across a great post in which I think it gives a good spice on making some understand how religion may really work. In this case we look at Weev's original story:

"What Christianity means to me

I was recently having an ethics debate where someone said that Christianity was "just what the greeks taught, but dumbed down". I heartily disagreed, and I wanted to put my reasons to text while I still remembered them.

Christianity is the ethics of the great Greek classics, for sure. It owes almost all its ethical lineage to those boys in limbo. There's something deeper than that. Jesus isn't just about ethics. He's about passion, love, and most of all, he's about being a time-traveling gangster.

I grew up poor. I know what it is like to go without food, or wear the same pair of shoes until they smell and have holes in them. When you're poor, you make poor friends. Let's say you and I grew up in the same trailer park. Our buddies had this friend named Chris. Chris always hung out with the shadiest people. He knew every hooker, hustler and scammer in the tri-state area. Despite that, Chris was the most loving, most real human being we'd ever met. He'd sometimes feed us 10 strips of acid and take us out to the woods to set off some explosives. He'd have our backs when the rich kids tried to beat us up. When we were hungry, he would give us food.

Most importantly, Chris gave us a sense of justice. "Man, those fuckin' Jews with their media and their Federal Reserve-- they have all the money and what do they do with it? Run this country into the ground. Try to program every man to be a slave to behaviorism and every daughter that isn't theirs to be a whore. Things ain't right."

Chris would also give us hope. "This fuckin shithole-- this fuckin' park. You're better than that. You're a good German kid. There's kings in your lineage. You deserve better. Fuck anyone who says otherwise. Your parents are assholes, your teachers are assholes, and you know what? You're an asshole too. But you deserve better. All of you." Chris made us think there was something important in our lives beyond the shitty trailer and the shitty family and the mac and cheese six nights a week.

One day, Chris takes too much acid. Freaks out. Starts going into banks, knocking shit over. "You fucking morons! You're agents of the subjugation and slavery of your neighbors! Don't you fuckin' see! Wake the fuck up, stop fucking ruining lives!" He breaks into the vault, burns all the money. Not interested in a cent of it.

Chris goes to prison. After he's gone, we all realize what a difference he made in our lives. Without Chris, the walls of our trailers seem really small. We spend our days somber and sad. Then one day, someone says, "let's throw a party". We all eat a little acid, and tell stories about Chris. We'd laugh, we'd remember when our lives were more complete. And through repeating his words about justice, truth, love and hope, we found these in ourselves.

And we'd wait. We'd count the days. Until Chris got out of jail.

And that, my friends, is the basis of all Christianity."
